The 6th Annual Atlantic Beer Festival

It’s time again for the Atlantic City Beer Festival – better known as “the celebration of the suds” presented by 100.7 WZXL. The festival will be kicking off on Friday April 1st and running thru Saturday April 2nd 2011.

Over 75 Different breweries from around the world are expected to showcase their suds at The 2011 Atlantic City Festival. Tripling its attendance from 5000 in 2005 to an outstanding 17,000 attendees in 2010, the festival holds the title of Atlantic City’s most anticipated and largest public event. Growing roots in the Atlantic City Convention Center the festival solidifies itself as a must attend Atlantic City experience.

The focus of Atlantic City Beer Fest is the promotion of craft beers and the brewers that create them. The event is the perfect opportunity for beer aficionados, beer lovers, and the casual drinker to speak with the many company representatives and brewers who craft their favorite beers, in addition to offering a venue for discovering new brews. Some of the brands attending (but not limited to) will be Abita, Allagash, Troegs, Lancaster Brewing Company, Magic Hat, Victory Brewing Company, Brooklyn Brewery, Smutty Nose, Flying Dog, Dog Fish Head, Ommegang, Stone Brewing Company, Samuel Adams, New Jersey Brewing Company, Ithaca Brewing, Yards Brewing Company as well as Cape Ann Brewing.

What goes best with beer? Food. This year’s festival will host a variety of local restaurants offering food that washes down nicely with a great brew –sausage and peppers, crab cakes, Tacos, and Festival inspired pizzas created by Atlantic City’s own Tony Baloneys.. These cooks will be on hand with a variety of foods to satisfy even the pickiest of beer lover.

A great festival experience isn’t complete without great entertainment. The 2011 celebration host a variety of fun and unique entertainment. Each session is kicked off with pipes and drums from the Founders, live music to ramp up the crowds featuring Life Speed for Session 1, Go Go Gaget fro session 2, and Burnt Siena for session 3. Back by overwhelming request beer festival seminars and cooking demos by Gary Monterosso, Rocky Fino , and Mark Hanie, Mechanical Bull Riding, also featuring sand sculptor by Sand Creations Matt Diebert.

Back with a Mission. The Atlantic City Beer Festival presents the Mustache Lounge. A section of the festival dedicated to the few the proud, the bold, individuals who have the ability and fortitude to let their lip hair grow strong. The lounge will feature a variety of beer related games, prizes for best mustaches and limited tastings as well as festival head quarters for creator Jon Henderson.

With a large concern on the safety of attendees, the festival offers a “Designated Driver” price of $10 per ticket (available at the door). Designated drivers will be allowed sodas and water with the run of the house.

A great new addition to the festival is Aid Me Motor Club as the festivals 2011 transportation partner. Aid Me will provide private transportation as well as bus transportation to and from all sessions of the 2011 Atlantic City Beer Festival. Aid Me can be contacted at www.aidme.net/acbeerfest.html.

Other transportation options include New Jersey Transit train arriving directly in the Atlantic City Convention Center (see www.njtransit.com for a Train Schedule) as well as the new event sponsor the Aces Train which runs from New York to Atlantic City (check out www.acestrain.com for more details). This is one of the reasons why the Atlantic City Convention Center makes for a perfect home for the “The Celebration of The Suds.”
