BIERE DE MARS SEASONAL LAUNCHES

BIERE DE MARS

The Southampton Publick House is thrilled to announce that its popular seasonal Biere de Mars will be available in March in draft, six-packs and in a special variety 12-pack (three Double White, three Altbier, three Indian Pale Ale and three Biere de Mars).

Biere de Mars, French for “March Beer,” is a little-known specialty beer that originated in northern France in the Départment du Nord and Pas-de-Calais regions. Biere de Mars was traditionally brewed in late winter when the fermentation cellars were at their coolest, resulting in a crisper, cleaner taste. The original brewers considered Biere de Mars their best brew of the season.

Southampton Biere de Mars is brewmaster Phil Markowski’s classic interpretation of an authentic French farmhouse-style Biere de Mars. “Our version is brewed with a
blend of wheat and barley malts and a generous amount of continental hops. It
is cool fermented and aged to give it a clean, smooth, lager-like character,” says Markowski

Flavor Description: Southampton Biere de Mars has a fruity, spicy aromaand flavor with notes of pear and honey. Artfully crafted, it is an amber ale withsubtle complexity and a crisp finish.
