Cape May Brewing Co. Makes Strategic Move with Acquisition of Flying Fish Brewing Co.

Cape May Brewing Company of Cape May, New Jersey, has announced its plans to acquire the assets of Flying Fish Brewing Company, a well-known craft brewer located in Somerdale, New Jersey. The move marks the coming together of two of New Jersey's top craft brewing brands, both with a passion for innovation, strong local pride and a deep appreciation for their fans.

The acquisition is a strategic investment that will significantly increase Cape May Brewing Company's manufacturing and warehousing space, while also boosting annual production capacity. In addition, the acquisition will add new manufacturing capabilities, allowing Cape May to expand its product portfolio.

“This is a massive milestone for both Cape May and Flying Fish, who we’ve long admired as a true pioneer of craft brewing in the Garden State since its founding in 1995,” said Cape May Brewing Company CEO and Co-founder Ryan Krill. “We are thrilled to expand our product portfolio and are approaching this acquisition with a focus on our core values, passion for brewing, and commitment to serving our customers with the highest-quality brews."

As part of the agreement, Flying Fish will continue to be distributed by its wholesale distributor partners. Cape May will maintain its existing locations in New Jersey and utilize its Cape Beverage Distributing network throughout the Garden State, as well as its wholesale distributor partnerships in Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Krill continued, “We are excited for these new opportunities, and grateful for the teams and fans of both brands who have supported the New Jersey craft beer community over the years. This may be a brand-new chapter in our company history, but it’s one that is rooted in the same values that have driven our commitment to quality, people and refreshing brews since our founding in 2011.”

The acquisition agreement is expected to close next month, with financial terms undisclosed. With this strategic move, Cape May Brewing Company is poised to strengthen its position as a leader in the craft brewing industry in New Jersey and beyond.
