Director, television and film actor Steve Stanulis joins The Beer Connoisseur for the next installment of the Crafty Celebrity Stories series, which features the best tales of ale, and more, from leading actors, celebrities and persons of interest.
Stanulis stars in the upcoming film The Networker, available September 12.
Beer drinkers like to laugh. What’s the funniest drinking story you can share with us?
When I was a police officer (with the NYPD) I ended up sitting next to some guy, we both recognized each other from somewhere and couldn't figure it out. It turns out I arrested him for shoplifting.
Who's the coolest person you've had a beer with?
William Forsythe. We met prior to production of our new film The Networker. Not only was I in awe of him as a person, but I also enjoyed all of the amazing stories he shared of his prior experiences.
What is your favorite beer and why?
Goose Island IPA.... nothing better on a hot summer day!
Do you have a favorite (craft) brewery or breweries and why?
Can't necessarily say I have a favorite, but when I am out enjoying a drink with my friends a good craft beer is definitely my go-to choice.
Have you attended any beer events or festivals that you particularly enjoyed? What made them stand out?
Being a New Yorker you have to attend the NYC Craft Beer Festival. Such a good place to kick back with friends and enjoy some beer. This festival brings people with a great vibe... 100% a must attend whether you are from New York or just visiting town!
What projects do you have brewing?
I have The Networker coming out this month which is a romantic comedy that also stars William Forsythe, Stephen Baldwin and Sean Young to name a few in this amazing cast. I also have The Fifth Borough which will be on Netflix. For that, I had the pleasure to work with Vincent Pastore, Cathy Moriarty, Richard Grieco and Vincent Young – again an amazing ensemble cast. In September I will be directing a new horror film starring Ice-T which I am really excited to get started on... it's called Clinton Road.
