Nine Pin Ciderworks Launches Biennial 26er Challenge: Last Chance to Join Before March 31 Deadline

Nine Pin Ciderworks, the trailblazing farm cidery in Albany, New York, is gearing up for the highly anticipated launch of its Biennial 26er Challenge on April 1, 2024. Paying homage to the iconic Adirondack 46er mountain hiking quest, the 26er Challenge invites cider aficionados to savor 26 exclusive, limited edition draft ciders available exclusively to members.

Crafted in collaboration with esteemed New York farm partners, each cider in the 26er Challenge promises an authentic and distinctive tasting experience. Nine Pin's commitment to supporting local agriculture shines through its dedication to fostering partnerships with New York farms.

Partnering with the Adirondack Mountain Club, Nine Pin aims to contribute to the preservation and research efforts of this revered nonprofit organization. Proceeds from the 26er Challenge will bolster the Adirondack Mountain Club's stewardship initiatives, furthering its mission to protect the natural beauty of the Adirondack Mountains.

Participants in the 26er Challenge must visit Nine Pin's Tasting Room within two weeks of each cider's release to sample and receive a stamp on their punch card. Completion of all 26 ciders within the year earns participants Bronze Level recognition, with opportunities for advancement to Silver, Gold, and the prestigious Platinum status in subsequent years.

“As a cider maker, I love innovating, and blending new varieties and ingredients to make interesting ciders,” said Alejandro del Peral, co-founder and cidermaker. “I take to heart the feedback from our patrons about what worked and what didn’t; it’s our way of involving the public in the creative process and allowing them to reap the benefits. I encourage everyone to sign up to explore taste and make some new cider friends along the way.”

For detailed information and challenge guidelines, interested individuals are encouraged to visit the Nine Pin 26er webpage. Sign-ups are conveniently available on Eventbrite, where participants can also opt to purchase a cider journal to commemorate their tasting journey.

Cider enthusiasts can indulge in Nine Pin's full range of offerings seven days a week at their Albany Tasting Room, nestled in the heart of the City's vibrant Warehouse district. Additionally, Nine Pin ciders are available at select retailers throughout New York State, Massachusetts, and New Jersey, as well as at esteemed bars and restaurants showcasing Nine Pin products. Residents outside these areas can conveniently purchase Nine Pin ciders through the cidery's online store.
