Alaskan Brewing Company has announced its Alaskan Amber and Freeride APA will be available in cans this month wherever Alaskan products are distributed. Icy Bay IPA cans will be exclusive to Alaska, with planned expansion depending on the canned IPA's popularity. Since Alaska is so isolated from the contiguous United States, shipping costs are always a major issue for the Juneau brewery. This problem can be mitigated through the use of lower-cost and lower-weight cans.

Sun King Brewing Company has announced plans to open a second facility in Fishers, Indiana, featuring a taproom and small batch brewery. The facility will allow Sun King to continue expanding without crossing Indiana’s threshold for public tastings and self-distribution, which is currently at 30,000 barrels a year.

Sun King anticipates further expansion on adjacent land, pending Senate Bill 297, which passed on April 1. If signed by Gov. Mike Pence, the bill will increase the limit to 90,000 barrels. See the full press release below:
