Cape May Brewing Co. Announces Return of Pick of the Batch Fall Festival

Cape May Brewing Co. in Cape May, New Jersey has announced the return of its Pick of the Batch Fall Festival. Full details are below.


Cape May, NJ -- Cape May Brewing Company is excited to officially announce the return of their Pick of the Batch Fall Festival on Saturday, October 8th from 12pm to 6pm. The inaugural event was held in October of 2019, and it’s coming back bigger and better than ever. Pick of the Batch will feature live music, new seasonal brews, featured vendors, and fun fall activities for the whole family. 

Pick of the Batch will include brewery-related events including a steinholding competition and keg rolling race, as well as fall-themed competitions such as pumpkin shot put, corn husking speed contest, and specialty events like seagull calling competition and best beard. Live music will play throughout the day, with performances from local band PettyCash and regional favorites Hannah Stone and Ok Otter. New Jersey rock station 100.7 WZXL will be onsite for a remote broadcast featuring morning show hosts JoJo + Scotty.

“Since our first event in 2019, we’ve been able to hone the Brewtanical Garden into an incredible event space,” says Marketing Director Alicia Grasso. “Cape May is known for its summers, but it is truly magical in the fall. We’re fortunate to be a year-round business here and we can’t wait to share this amazing event with everyone.”

Piedmont Brewery and Kitchen in Macon, Georgia has announced the release of a easy-drinking pilsner to honor the birthday of soul legend Otis Redding. Full details are below.


Macon, GA - Piedmont Brewery and Kitchen is partnering with the Otis Redding Foundation again to bring a special Otis Redding Birthday Beer. This new beer hits the taps at Piedmont on Thursday, September 8th at 5:00pm. Smooth and easy, just like Otis on stage, Mr. Pitiful's Pilsner is a responsible 4.8% ABV and is dry and crisp. Expect flavors and aromas of green melon and lemon zest. The first beer, “Hard 2 Handle,” was launched February 10, 2022.

The Otis Redding Foundation will be on-hand with Big O merch, including Mr. Pitiful's Pilsner commemorative t-shirts, stickers and glassware.  Fresh Produce Records will be set up and spinning Otis records during the evening. A large portion of the proceeds from this collaboration will be donated to The Otis Redding Foundation to help the legacy of Mr. Redding live on through music education.

Lawson's Finest Liquids in Waitsfield, Vermont has announced the release of its first black IPA called Big Hoppy. Full details are below.


Waitsfield, VT. - For the first time ever and just in time for fall, Lawson’s Finest Liquids is introducing a Black IPA across the Northeast. Big Hoppy, a 7.5% ABV Black IPA boasting a bold flavor profile, is now available for the first time across the brewery’s nine-state distribution area of VT, CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, and RI.  

Made with huge additions of five hop varieties and seven malts, Big Hoppy is a dark and decadent brew reflecting a resinous, sticky fusion and intense bitterness for the most devoted hopheads. With its potent aromas and bold taste, the beer leads with a roasted flavor profile complemented by its signature bitterness resulting from a potent blend of hops.”
